ESIA - Centralised IT and industrial supervision

Intradel, a critical and distributed infrastructure.

Intradel is the Liège-based intermunicipal company responsible for waste treatment for 72 municipalities. Its infrastructure is based on a complex and geographically distributed ecosystem: 49 recycling centres, a central site, field data flows, and industrial and energy facilities.

In this context, Intradel's IT department wanted to strengthen the monitoring of its IT infrastructure, with a clear objective: to anticipate incidents, improve system availability and have a unified view of all sites.

Moving from reactive supervision to a proactive approach

Prior to the deployment of ESIA, existing monitoring covered approximately 80% of the infrastructure.

The main challenges identified were:

  • Late detection of certain technical anomalies
  • Lack of visibility into actual capacities (CPU, RAM, disks, VMs)
  • Difficulty in anticipating saturation and under-sizing
  • Fragmented supervision across multiple sites

Solution implemented: ESIA, centralised and scalable IT supervision

Intradel chose ESIA to implement a centralised monitoring solution capable of covering both IT environments and, ultimately, technical and industrial infrastructures.

The solution currently monitors nearly 280 systems, including:

  • Servers and network equipment
  • Virtual machines and storage
  • Critical applications and business processes
  • Postal services, printers, copiers and peripherals
  • Systems distributed across the central site and the 49 recycling centres

All data is centralised in unified dashboards, with proactive alerts and complete history tracking.

Results: availability, foresight and operational peace of mind

Thanks to ESIA, Intradel has profoundly transformed its infrastructure management:

  • Availability increased to 99%
  • Anticipating incidents before they impact users
  • Identification of undersized VMs and saturation risks
  • Detection of obsolete equipment
  • Better planning for IT replacements and upgrades
  • Business continuity ensured, including remote working

Monitoring data flows between collection lorries and the central site now makes it possible to take action as soon as an anomaly occurs, whereas previously this could sometimes take several days.

Multi-site, scalable supervision

All sites are displayed on a geographical map, with each recycling centre represented by a status indicator that can be accessed remotely.

Teams can thus be alerted even before a problem is detected locally.

Intradel is gradually extending the ESIA solution to:

  • fill sensors (glass bubbles, containers),
  • the electricity grid and energy production,
  • industrial facilities (sorting plants, biomethanisation plants),  in a unified IoT supervision approach.

Why Intradel chose ESIA.

  • IT and industrial monitoring on a single platform
  • Centralised, real-time and historical view
  • Scalable solution, suitable for complex environments
  • Reduction in incidents and emergency work
  • Better control of critical infrastructure

ESIA supports Intradel with proactive, sustainable and performance-oriented supervision.
